Now in its third year, the Navy Blue Party is set to return for the 2016 Bournemouth Air Festival.
As part of the festival social calendar, the Navy Blue Party will once again feature The Band of Her Majesty’s Royal Marines Collingwood, performing their marching band music on the lawn of Hotel Miramar following Beat Retreat on the East Overcliff; plus their jazz musicians playing into the evening.
Hotel Director, David Bailey said, “What started as a one-off charity event has now become an integral part of the Bournemouth Air Festival social scene and this will be the third successive year Hotel Miramar has hosted the party. Guests get to enjoy great views for the Night Air displays, plus the Royal Marines Band, other live music performances, and of course great food and superb company.”
Amongst the guests will be local VIPs and military dignitaries, including the new First Sea Lord, Admiral Sir Philip Jones KCB, ADC.
David added, “The musical focus this year will be themed to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Jutland, which is featuring heavily in naval circles. Also of course, the Royal Navy play an enormous part in the Bournemouth Air Festival, so we are proud to support the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity by hosting this popular fundraising event.”
