There is no doubt that the Covid 19 pandemic has brought a lot of changes to all of us, an impact than most of us would never have anticipated in our lifetime.
As well as the devastating human loss, it has brought change to the way we go about our everyday lives.
The good news is that thanks to the roll out of the vaccine, and the lockdowns which have kept us apart, we are now seeing light at the end of the tunnel and very much looking forward to a summer that feels much more like normality.
Here at Hotel Miramar, we have used our ‘down time’ to continue with the refurbishment programme of our bedrooms and bathrooms. We are looking forward to completing the work during the next 12 months.
From April 12 (now known as the ‘glorious twelfth’) we were delighted to be able to open the gardens, deck, and terrace for outdoor dining. We celebrated the occasion with an afternoon of live jazz music with the Chris Walker Quartet, and although it was not the warmest of days, we received the warmest of greetings from guests who were thrilled to be back.
The next phase of reopening will be mid-May when we can have overnight guests and return to what we do best – being the country house hotel by the sea.
The Blakemore family, and hotel management team would like to say a big thank you to all the staff who have been on furlough during the closure, and a big thank you to many loyal guests and friends who have been keeping in touch with us via our social media.
It has been heart-warming to know that you have missed us as much as we have missed you.
Team Miramar is here for you… and we just cannot wait.
