The Royal Bournemouth Hospital Charity has been given a cash boost thanks to the generosity of guests staying at Hotel Miramar.

Having previously donated funds towards the Orchard Garden Project at the hospital, we recently presented a cheque for a further £500 to the charity whose mission is to enhance the care and treatment of patients at the Trust’s hospitals.

Each year Hotel Miramar selects a charity to benefit from the hotel’s ‘£1 a bed campaign’ where guests are asked if they are willing to add just £1 to their bill to be donated to the nominated charity.

Hotel Miramar General Manager, Theo Iakimov said, “The majority of our guests are more than happy to donate an extra pound onto their stay, and with the number of room nights we have, it soon mounts up. We will have further funds to present to the Royal Bournemouth Hospital Charity in the spring before we change to a new beneficiary. Also, this year for the month of August, the £1 a bed donations went to the Royal Navy Royal Marines Charity who we supported through our Navy Blue Party as part of the Bournemouth Air Festival celebrations.”

Corporate Fundraising Manager at the Hospital Charity commented, “We thank Theo and the Hotel Miramar team and guests for their generosity. We are always immensely grateful to all our community and corporate fundraisers, and this bedroom pledge just goes to show that every pound really does make a difference.”
