Wedding FAQs

Access to the venue can normally be arranged from 08.00am on the day of the event, although set up may not be complete in some cases. If then function room is not being used the day before, earlier access may be granted. Evening access is normally available from 17.00pm.

Real candles are permitted, as we have a state-of-the-art fire detective service, and no venue is ever left unattended. You may want to consider LED candles as these are much safer.  We just ask that you are careful with any paper items that are part of your table design, and you provide your own candles & candle holders.

The hotel provides complimentary banqueting chairs.  

Are not supplied or fitted by the hotel, however we can arrange for you at an additional supplement.  You are also more than  welcome to provide your own supplier.  

Biodegradable confetti are permitted outside in the gardens only. Party Poppers cannot be used inside the Hotel.

The hotel provides complimentary cutlery, crockery, and glassware.  

We do have disabled access to most areas in the hotel, a ramp will be provided in certain areas.

From late November to early January, our function suites will have stylish Christmas decorations and lights, so if you are feeling adventurous, why not make them part of your special day at no cost. Certain festive displays are not removable in December. Please ask for further details.

Final numbers & payment are due no later than 14 days prior to your event. Once final numbers and payment are received, they cannot be changed or refunded.

Highchairs are provided free of charge; we have a maximum of 5 if required.

All items left behind should be collected by 12 noon the next day. Anything left by any persons is not the responsibility of the hotel. We advise that all valuables are removed on the evening and always kept with you as the hotel cannot be held responsible for items that are missing from the venue function room including favours, name cards etc.

The hotel provides complimentary white table linen and white linen napkins.  We do also stock black table linen if preferred.  If you are looking for alternative colours this can be arranged at a supplementary charge.  Please ask for further details.  

Children are welcome at our weddings although we do have guidelines to ensure your day is not disrupted, and for genuine health and safety reasons. Evening maximum numbers do apply to children of guests not attending the Wedding Breakfast, ask for details.

We have facilities for you to use our speakers with an iPhone/iPad/Laptop in our      function rooms. These will need to be tested prior to your event to ensure compatibility and good working order. If you prefer to arrange your own Band or Disco, your supplier will need their own equipment and will need to supply us in advance with their public liability insurance certificate and electrical safety certificate. Please note that we do ask all entertainers to reduce music by 25% at 23:00pm, this is to ensure hotel guests have a good night’s sleep.

Although we have provided our own Menu Selection which reflects current food trends, we do offer a bespoke service where we can price up your own choice of individual menu on application.

Complimentary tastings are available to all confirmed bookings with a deposit. They are only available for the wedding breakfast menus and not buffets, canapés, BBQ’s. They are generally offered Sunday to Thursday 19.00 hours to 20.30 hours. Please ask for further details.

If you would like the option of two menu choices per course, this can be arranged. A Pre-order will be required 14 days prior to your event and printed on all guest place cards which you much supply.

We operate until midnight seven days a week.

We have 85 car parking spaces which are available on a first come first served basis.  There are an additional 900 spaces on the Seafront, which are reasonably charged throughout the day and parking is free overnight. During Air Show there is no parking on the seafront or within the Hotel. Our recommended Taxi Company is PRC Streamline on 01202 373737. Cars should not be left overnight if you are not resident in the hotel, so please advise guests to arrive by Taxi. You will need to register your car registration at reception on arrival.

Your personal wedding planner will be on hand throughout your day until early evening. The Hotel Manager in charge of your event will be introduced to you on the day.

Any of our outdoor garden areas can be used for photographs providing residents or patrons are not displaced. Don’t forget the seafront is directly in front of us and the beach a 5-minute walk.

You should personally contact Bournemouth Registry Office to book your ceremony on 01202 454945 / registrars@bournemouth.gov.uk and pay fees paid directly.

Five bedrooms are allocated at a special rate for the night on the day of your event, this must be booked with your event manager direct.  All other bedrooms booked will be available at the best available rate at the time of booking. A non-refundable deposit of £50.00 per room is required on booking with the full balance due three days prior to your event.

We do have reputed and recommended suppliers that we work closely with, although they are not affiliated to the hotel. Please ask for further details.

Items from your suppliers and you can be delivered up to 24 hours prior to your wedding and stored securely. Please ensure your transport can accommodate your gifts and belongings when departing the following day.

The hotel provides complimentary round and oval tables that can seat 6-12 people per table.  Long tables can seat up to 10 people.
